Time for Christmas listing.
This year, that means ordering a few smallish, lightish things on Amazon and having them shipped to family and friends, also known as I’ll just give you a real present next year.
Followed by a trip to the zoo mall to buy waveboards, remote control cars, and watches for the kids at the orphanage. I’ve been asking around with the preteen kids to find out everyone is hoping for this year, and some of their gift ideas just plain old MELT me. Like my girls told me, in all seriousness, that they want math workbooks. For working on MATH. And plain white paper, and stickers, and “ball pens”. And jeans.
Ok, fine, I’ll buy it all for everyone.
{I honestly did not start out this post with the intent of sharing these links with you, but so many of you have generously asked about it before that I feel like now would be a good time to mention it – the orphanage that I’m working at has an Amazon wish list, a special projects donation page, and a child sponsorship program if you are interested in being a part of our Christmas giving here at the shelter! Thank you to those of you who have already expressed interest!}
High on my personal list this year:
- Cheap bronzer. I’ve been hibernating in the air conditioning for the last 6 months.
- A new pink water bottle filled with pink Gatorade, except I don’t even like Gatorade. What? The Philippines confuses me.
- BT McElrath Salted Toffee Dark Chocolate bars, frozen. I hope I die with one of those in my mouth.
In other news, did you know that the only thing better than eating Gingerbread French Toast in your red thrift store Tshirt and striped pajama shorts is watching it happen all over again on your iPhone, set to twinkly music, so many times that your husband asks you to put in headphones? Well, it is.
How To Make Our Gingerbread French Toast:
Sweetened condensed milk, powdered sugar, and maple syrup. It’s like my life just flashed before my eyes, in the best possible way. It’s also like we have ants now.
But anyways.
You probably need to get going on your gingerbread. Oh happy day!
