And Just Like That, Christmas Be Gone
How did that just happen? I blinked and allthethingshappened and now it’s December 27th and Christmas is nothing more than a crumb left on my sweater.
Although both the crumb and the sweater might be a little generous in terms of describing this Christmas, considering my food intake was Gatorade, ginger ale, and saltines compliments of my special holiday virus, and my new used-to-be-white sweater became a bold denim blue after a careless Emergency Wash to prepare it for Christmas morning.
But who needs white sweaters and delicious food when you have THIS FACE to wake up to on December 25th?
Now might be a good time to tell you that Bjork was unanimously voted Most Likely to Actually Be Santa Claus by my family this year and I’M NOT EVEN JOKING. So there’s that always that.
Regardless of all the imperfections that came along with this year’s Christmas, I tried my best to look generally alive, sip on the bubbly grape juice with everyone, and take a few pictures to remember the most wonderful time of the year.
Between Bjork’s family and mine and all the people in between, we have so many things to be thankful for and UGH I swear wasn’t going to get Christmasy-cliche, but there it is. It’s just sort of overwhelming when you really stop and think about how incredible it is to have all the people you love most in the world gathered together in a room, healthy, smiling, alive, feeding each other good food and feeling all the real life love-peace-and-joy together that represents what we celebrate at this time of year.
So as a way of sharing life, and as a way of letting you know that I am, in fact, STILL ALIVE, this post is a collection of some of my favorite snaps from this year’s celebration featuring no food other than the orange rolls a la Bjork (yahhhmmy), lots of babies and dogs, pajamas, and laughs.
You can just imagine me taking these in the background while munching on saltines in my newly blued sweater. Merry Christmas? Merry Christmas.
Did you make the most yummy things for Christmas this year (like this Christmas tea ring)? Will you please tell me about it? I feel like I’m making up for lost time here.
