Hey! It’s Bjork again. I told you I’d be back.

Lindsay and I have something that we’re really excited to share with you today!

We are launching a new website for food bloggers called Food Blogger Pro!

Food Blogger Pro will be a membership site where we showcase everything we’ve learned over the past three years about starting and growing a food blog. We’ll tackle the most common problems that food bloggers face, covering everything from photography to technology.

Food Blogger Pro will focus on food bloggers that are in their “freshman” and “sophomore” year of blogging. These are food bloggers that are just starting out (freshman), or have been blogging for a little while and are looking for ways to bring their blog to the next level (sophomores). I explain this a bit further down below.

As mentioned in the video, Food Blogger Pro will launch on February 1st, 2013. It’s a ways off, but if you’re interested, you can purchase a discounted early bird membership at the end of this post.

    Freshman Year

Do you remember your first day of freshman year?

I do. I was terrified. I think I might have even cried. I went to a really small middle school which fed into a high school with a student population of 2,000. I know that’s not that big compared to some schools, but to me it felt huge and scary.

There are two things I remember as being especially hard:

    1. Being overwhelmed with the amount of work
    2. Feeling totally lost

I think we can feel the same way in our freshman year of blogging.

I know that Lindsay and I felt this way with Pinch of Yum. It seemed like there were one thousand things that we needed to learn about running a food blog. To a freshman food blogger, things like food photography, search engine optimization, recipe formatting, and website hosting can all be a bit overwhelming. It’s easy to feel like you’re lost.

    Sophomore Year

Sophomore year was a little different. I was a little more comfortable, and there were a handful of things that happened in my sophomore year that made me think “you mean it’s actually possible for me to do this?”

    Things like:

    1. Getting an A in a drawing class
    2. Learning jazz guitar
    3. Making a popular girl laugh (her name was Lindsay, maybe you know her?)

These were things that I could have never imagined myself doing. But when I actually got started, I realized that it wasn’t quite as hard as I originally thought.

Have you ever had the same feeling with your blog?

I remember feeling that way the first time we had 1,000 visitors to Pinch of Yum in one day, or the first time Lindsay was contacted about doing freelance work. We started to realize that it was possible for us to grow the blog in ways we hadn’t imagined before.

Food bloggers that are in their sophomore year have probably already had some success and are now looking to take their blog to the next level. These bloggers might be interested in learning about creating their own product, doing freelance projects, or creating an income from the traffic they are starting to see from their blog.

    Today

For Pinch of Yum, the first year of blogging was getting set up and learning the basics.

The second year saw us experimenting with growing traffic, improving our food photography, shooting videos, and creating an income from the blog.

And now here were are, as juniors, hoping to share some of the really cool things we’ve learned along the way about building and growing a food blog.

Are we the ultimate authority on building a food blog? No way. Do we know things that could be useful for fellow food bloggers who are in their freshman and sophomore year of blogging? Absolutely!

    Food Blogger Pro

With this new site, Lindsay and I will be using videos and screencasts to show you everything that we have learned about starting and growing a food blog. We’ll also be updating the library as we continue to grow Pinch of Yum, showing you the behind the scenes for everything we’re learning.

Here is a list of the topics that are available as easy-to-follow step-by-step courses on Food Blogger Pro:
